Frequently Asked Questions

How much should I donate?

The average monthly contribution to Kalama is $20 / month. Check out this budgeting scenario from @pocketchangepools - mutual aid as a means of distribution should be considered in terms of percentage rather than amount. Consider this:

Person A makes $30,000/year and donates $10/week (1.73% of their net total income)

Person B makes $70,000/year and donates $20/week (1.48% of their net total income)

Person C makes $500,000/year and donates $100/week (1.04% of their net total income)

Consider these guidelines when committing to your monthly amount.
